Basic Preventative 1 contains a wide array of vitamins and minerals, including: Vitamin A, Beta Carotine, Vitamin D3, Vitamin E, Vitamin K1, Vitamin C, Vitamin B1, Vitamin B2, Niacin, Niacinamide, Pantothenic Acid, Vitamin B6, Folic Acid, Vitamin B12, Biotin, Choline, Calcium, Magnesium, Potassium, Manganese, Zinc, Iodine, Chromium, Selenium, Molybdenum, Vanadyl Sulfate, Boron, and Copper.

It also includes additional ingredients: Raw Gland Tissue, PABA, Inositol, and Citrus Bioflavonoids.

Choline is a member of the B-vitamin family. Some foods that have been found to be rich in Choline include egg yolk, flaxseed, soybeans, oats, and lentils.

Choline is thought to contribute to weight loss by not only preventing fat from building up in the liver, but also by keeping fat moving throughout the cells and preventing it from accumulating. Some scientists also believe that this may help to keep cholesterol levels low. It has also been marathon runners and other endurance athletes could benefit from this vitamin. Choline has been shown to increase communication between cells, which helps to keep the legs pumping during intense cardiovascular activity.

In addition to extra antioxidants, Basic Preventative 1 also claims to contain minerals that are “bioavailable,” meaning that they are more efficiently absorbed. However, we were disappointed to find that this product does not contain an additional ingredient to enhance the absorption of all if its components. The substance 2-AEP has been shown to increase absorption of certain minerals almost eight fold, which is quite a significant improvement on the average supplement.

Perhaps because of this absorption problem, the manufacturer advises taking three capsules of Basic Preventative 1 twice per day. Taking two separate doses may be somewhat inconvenient, and many individuals may find themselves forgetting about the second dose entirely.

While we appreciate that the manufacturer took bioavailability into account, it could still be much improved with the addition of an ingredient like 2-AEP, which would ensure that all vitamins and minerals would be absorbed more effectively.

For many individuals, convenience makes all the difference when it comes to actually taking their vitamins. We strongly recommend that consumers look for doses that come individually packaged, so that they can simply grab and go.
